Questions pilots ask

Is an electronic logbook legal?

Yes. §61.51 says what has to be recorded, not what it has to be recorded in. You’re still responsible for the accuracy of your entries, and it’s wise to export or print a copy regularly.

Can my instructor sign flights and endorsements here?

Not electronically yet. Endorsements are stored with their full text and print ready for a wet signature. Electronic signatures have to meet the FAA’s guidance in AC 120-78, and we won’t claim they do until they do.

Does the currency page replace my own judgment?

No. It’s only as good as what you log, and it follows the common reading of Part 61. It’s a cross-check, not legal advice — when in doubt, read the regulation or ask your CFI.

How do I get my ForeFlight history in?

In ForeFlight, export your logbook as CSV, then upload it on the Import page. Your aircraft come across too; you just confirm the category, class and gear for each one.
